God wants you to bear fruit in your relationship with Him because when you bear fruit your life becomes witness to the fact that God is real. God never wants you to live a mediocre life, regardless of how fast or slow you are growing in your relationship with Him.
Jesus attested to the fact that bearing fruit is an essential part of our lives, and when we do not bear fruit it is not reflective of the nature of God, or how our lives should be as children of light. In Matthew 5:16 NIV he said, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
One way to let the light of God in your life shine is by ensuring that you are making progress and producing results, whether physical results or spiritual results. All the same, man will see it and give glory to God.
Anytime you desire a better life, progress and something better in your life it is actually Godly, because we were made in the likeness and image of God, and most of our desires come from the way God made us to be like Him. As long as your desires or ambitions are rooted in Christ, then your life definitely should bear fruit.
There are two knowledge areas that derive results and help you bear fruit in your Christian life. The first is your knowledge of God, His nature and character and the second is your understanding of the principles of Kingdom of God and how you need to operate in it. When these two areas are established in your consciousness, you will find that your life will produce sustainable results and progress in Christ.
Get to know God for yourself and bear fruit
In Daniel 11:32b KJV the word of God says, “And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. ”
Your knowledge about God is important. When you get to know God personally, you get to understand a lot about who God is what He expects of you. Christianity is not a life of guesswork but an absolute life in which through your relationship with God you can have definite outcomes and expectations based how you know God.
Its easy to pay attention to other things in life, and not to pay attention to God himself. GOd desires you to draw near to Him, and he promised that when you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you. KNowing God should be your first pursuit before anything else you want to achieve. When you know Him and have an intimate relationship with Him, you will start to see that your desires line up with God’s desires and your results becomes those born out of the benevolence of God’s blessings in your life.
When you know God and you persist at knowing and growing in your relationship with Him daily, then Hi grace and peace will be multiplied to you, and when this happens, the natural derivative of it is that you will bear fruit. The word of God says, your knowledge of God produces grace and peace.
“Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3according as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” 2 Peter 1:2-3 KJV.
God wants you to know Him intimately, because when you know Him you live life the way he intended for you to live. While Jesus was praying, He prayed for you and I to know God, because it reveals our eternal life. He said, “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” John 17:3 KJV.
Pay the price to know God for yourself, and to know Him intimately beyond your going to church, what a preacher says, and what others tell you about Him. The audacity and confidence that you will have in the kingdom life, is derived from your knowledge of God, and your encounters with Him.
Grace for exploits and a life of results starts with your hunger and passion for God. Jesus told His disciples, “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men” Matthew 4:19 KJV. The God that you have encountered or know is the one who you will present to your generation. Moses encountered and presented God to Pharaoh. David encountered God for himself, and that was why he had such faith to face Goliath.
As you know Him your confidence goes beyond the natural to the supernatural, and it is from the supernatural where you begin to bear fruit, and fruit that remains, see John 15:16. When you know God this way even the devil will not catch you by surprise, he will not take advantage of your ignorance either, and this can eliminate the fear of many things from your life.
One of the first ways to know God is to study His nature and character. In Psalm 103 we find the richest capture of God’s nature and character, and you get to know the benefits that are in God for you to enjoy.
There are things you will believe and delete immediately, once you the know God’s true nature and character, for example do you know that God is love? That God loves you, that the character of God is that He gives, God is merciful and God is kind. And whatever you do for God’s Kingdom work to progress is not done in vain. It is not in His nature to rob man.
Many believers are in church but do not know God initmately and the devil plays with their minds because they don’t know his character and nature enough to overcome those thoughts. He was God before your arrival.
The second way to know God, is to do a study of God’s power. In Ephesians 1:18-21, we read the prayer that Paul prayed for the believers, saying “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,”
You can use the works of God to verify that He is there in your life or in an environment. There are things even satan cannot do, that only God can do. There are people who did not have significant names, but they are described by the spectacular manifestation of God’s power.
You can believe in Jesus by demonstrating his power. You must cry to see the manifestation of his power in your life, because when God shows up through His power you get to know a dimension in God thatyou did not otherwise know. It could be the power of God to deliver, to prosper, to heal, to bless, whateverit is that you desire to see, It should not be in church alone, let the reality be imported to your home, business, health and many other areas of your daily life.
When His power is revealed in your life, your life becomes witness to others. Acts 4:33 says, “And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.” Acts 10:38 says, “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
Understand the principles of the kingdom to bear fruit
“He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.” Matthew 13:11 KJV
Thekingdom of God operates by principles. The principles are also called mysteries, or you might even know them as laws. After knowing God, there are principles that help you bear fruit in Christ, and when you apply the principles results are evident.
God wants you to live by faith, Romans 1:17, and also to walk by faith and not by sight, 2 Corinthians 5:7. When you apply the principles of the Kingdom, God considers this faith, because faith responds and acts according to what the word of God says. The principles of the Kingdom of God help you to make progress and bear the fruit of righteousness, through Christ.
That is why Jesus said, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” John 15:16 KJV
There are different principles that you need to take action on to see specific results from your faith in God’s word. The principles of the Kingdom are many, such as giving, serving, tithing, living healthily, living in purity and holiness, and many more. When you consciously do as the Kingdom of God says, you will notice that you will make great progress, and bear fruit as a witness of God in your life.
