There are things that God desires to do in your life that He administers through the Holy Spirit. He works in you and through you by the Holy Spirit to administer fruitfulness, peace, abundance, speed, restoration, health and many more things that you need to live the Christian life successfully.
The Holy Spirit is called the spirit of life or the spirit who gives life. In Romans 8:2, the bible says, “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” Did you know that when you believed in Jesus Christ and when you received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, you received life, when the Holy Spirit came to live inside you, you received the spirit that administers life in you daily? Three gifts were immediately available to you the moment Jesus Christ became the Lord of your life. The gift of forgiveness of sins, the gift of righteousness and the gift of life (also called Zoe).
The greatest gift you ever received in Christ was life. No wonder Jesus said in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” The thief here who is the devil, always comes not just to make you sick, cause delays, limit you, make you poor, keep you in bondage, or discourage you. He is ultimately after the life you received because that life delivered you from sin and death, and the devil is the father of all sin and administers death.
When you have Jesus in your life, and you know you have received the Holy Spirit, know that what you received was not ordinary, but an actual life that embodies the totality of God in you. Everything in the life that you receive does not lack anything at all. So whenever you see anything happening to you that is contrary to anything good or that depicts life, know that it is not from God. The Lord Jesus Christ is not out for you not to enjoy the full benefits of the life that He gave you.
Everything that God does in your life, is all for the purpose of bringing you to enjoy the fullness of the life he came to give, John 10:10 GNT. God works in you and through you, to do everything that pleases Him, and not the devil. He is always working in and through you to make sure your life embodies what you actually received, and that is why you need to yield to the holy spirit and the work he is doing every day. “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13 (KJV).
The twofold work of the holy spirit in your life
There is a two-fold work that the Holy Spirit administers to you consistently in your life. He works in you and through you transformation of your mind and empowerment to witness. When He comes as the Holy Spirit, His first assignment is not only to make you a witness but it is to transform you into the vessel He can work from in witnessing to the world. When the Holy Spirit comes, His major assignment for a long period is the inner work of the believer. The degree to which you allow Him to work on you is the degree to which he will flow through you to your world.
In Ephesians 3:16-17, Paul prayed saying, “I pray that out of his glorious riches, he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.” Paul was praying for the fullness of Christ to always be at work in you and bring the necessary transformation that would allow God’s power to work through you.
What can interrupt the flowing of the power of God, and the fullness of the life you have received is the quality of the vessel. We are often too busy to allow him to do quality work in and through us. When you got born again, your spirit was immediately renewed, but your mind had things it had to let go of, that is why in Romans 12:2, we are instructed to let go of the ways of thinking that are motivated by the things we learnt from operating in the physical and begin to operate in the spiritual life from God.
The holy spirit helps you in your tranformation
God uses a transformed believer. He aims to cleanse, renew, and purify us until we become like Christ in reality, and fit for use in the Kingdom, 2 Timothy 2:21. He does this through transformation. Transformation is the process that makes you become like Christ in experience. When you receive eternal life the first part of you that is changed is your spirit. Your mind still needs to be transformed, to conform to the character of Christ. Romans 12:2.
You can receive the Holy Spirit and even the gift of speaking in other tongues. However, that is only the beginning of your spiritual transformation. The next step is to allow the Holy Spirit to Work in you, and through you. You do this by building character, working on your mind, and through the knowledge of His word and taking action on it by faith, and soon enough your life reflects the life God has revealed about His people in the word. A scripture-compliant life.
God aims first for your transformation. Your witnessing to the nations is predicated upon your quality of transformation. So we yield ourselves to be transformed so that we are filled to overflow the life of God, and then He begins to flow to the world through us. Read Acts 4:33. The Holy Spirit helps you in this transformation phase, and works to make you this effective but before this effectiveness comes. He transforms and presses out of you pure oil that God desires to see. Sometimes the pressing of the olive fruit to become oil is very painful.
The life-giving ministry of the Holy Spirit can look like death for a long time because in transformation there will be quietness, your gift may not be recognised, and you may not yet be sent to nations. Only to the degree to which you patiently go through a transformation and become the vessel that can host that river of water, His power. God’s power operates as a flow.
Acts 2:42 says, “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” The transformation assignment works through the word and prayer.
In Acts 20:32, we see that the word of God promises everyone an inheritance. Those who are transformed by the word of God, position themself to receive their inheritance because He has been transformed through the sanctification of the word. If you do not submit yourself to the word and prayer you have suffocated the life-giving ministry of the Holy Spirit. He is the spirit of truth whom the world has not known but you know Him, Jesus said, John 14:17 KJV.
Your mind must be renewed to conform to the mind of Christ. Satan is out to blind the minds of many, that they might not see who they are in Christ, and ultimately enjoy the inheritance they have in Christ, so he makes sure that even believers are kept busy doing things that will not result in transformation, and fruitful Christian lives. You must stay with the spirit of life to give you knowledge and understanding.
Yield to the leading and training of the holy spirit every day
Every lecture in the realm of the spirit needs to be attended. Your life is full of lecture series that God puts you through, to make you what He has purposed for you. Missing any of them is a great mistake because the deficiency of knowledge will be evident when the spiritual need for the required results is demanded out of life circumstances. When you are transformed you allow the grace of God to flow through your life as well, because now you do not rely on human reasoning that frustrates the grace of God from working in your favour. As Paul said, we should not frustrate the grace of God, Galatians 2:21.
Genesis 12:2, God wants to give you a name, it is the name that He uses as a means to reach nations and peoples. So when itching for ministry you are called yes, but let him send you himself. He calls man to himself, furnishes them with knowledge and then sends them out to be his witnesses. We see this model even with the disciples, he first called them to Himself, they followed Him, learning from Him, and then He sent them out with authority and power to make disciples of all nations. Notice that Jesus even changed their identity in the process. he made them “fishers of man”. That is why Abram was changed to Abraham, Sarai to Sarah, and Jacob to Israel. He transformed their natural names through training and sent them to do His work, a spiritual exercise that He does with every one of us. The next time you wonder why things have not gone the way you expect, check whether you have fully yielded to the Holy Spirit and the work God wants to do through you.
A lot of the problems can be solved when you are fully yielded to the helper, the Holy Spirit. Without transformation, that walks in the fullness of life that you received, you will keep living an ordinary life. Remember how the disciples turned the world upside down? Acts 17:6 (KJV). This simply meant that they dominated their world and life’s circumstances. It could be poverty, lack, difficulties, demonic attacks, or continuous illnesses which the devil has used to attack and steal away your life’s benefits, but when transformation comes, and the truth is revealed to you, you will begin to live above those circumstances.
Even Jesus was trained before He met John the Baptist who would anoint Him for His ministry. John recognised the trained Jesus, so much that he felt he was not worthy to anoint Him. Jesus was humbled enough to allow scripture to be fulfilled. You must be hungry for the training of the Spirit of Life. Ephesians 3:19-20. When you go through that inner work on transformation and training, He will isolate you to reveal and teach you things.
The spirit and his life-giving ministry of the holy spirit on earth is not independent of man. The river flows through man. The first Adam was made a living soul, and the second Adam is a life-giving spirit, 1 Corinthians 15:45. The life we have is that of life-giving spirits. If we are in Christ, we are life-giving Spirits. That is why there is healing, abundance, and power. Adam was not a life-giving spirit. His life was very different to the life we have in Christ today.
God desires a worthy channel to flow His power to do mighty works in people’s lives, John 20:30-31. The miracles of Jesus were to stimulate us towards that end, life! This is for vessels aligned and yielded to God, and the teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit, to demonstrate the fullness of Christ through you, and for His knowledge, wisdom and power to flow out to fix the problems in your world.

When God trains man as far as your witness is concerned, you will never be expected to be proficient in all three. He gave some to His body to work in harmony together. That is why there are conferences, and sermons from different vessels (servants of God) that minister of the Gospel. You are not at liberty to choose which one you will emphasize, for He knows what you need to be an effective witness for Him.
