Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”John 20:29. Believing in God is the key to a life of faith that produces kingdom-consistent results.
A time came after Jesus had resurrected, that He visited His disciples one after the other. First He appeared to Mary Magdalene, at the tomb where He was buried. She went on to tell the disciples what she had seen and what Jesus had told her.
Later in the evening of the same day, He appeared to the disciples, but one of them who was Thomas was not there at the time. When the disciples told him, he did not believe because he wanted to see a sign. It was clear from the word of God that Thomas chose not to believe.
The word says, “The other disciples, therefore, said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.” John 20:25
The blessing of believing in God
It was very clear that Thomas chose not to believe. For he said unless I see ‘this and that I will not believe. Many are like that today.
The promises of the kingdom of God, only work for those who believe, firstly in Jesus Christ, and secondly in the word of God and His promises. If there is any condition that can separate you and me from what God has promised us to enjoy in this life, it is this one thing.
When God says He will do it, He means it. Your part is only to believe, because when you do believe you are blessed. Believing is a trait.
Believing is the most important trait you can have, for your life and relationship with God. And true belief is seen for that impossible situation you are facing right now. For Thomas, The resurrection of Jesus was scientifically impossible, because he believed in experimental results. For many today it is the same, but I urge you not to follow the crowd. Discover him for yourself.
Anyone who does not believe in Jesus Christ today, and does not believe that He resurrected, can be likened to Thomas. Thomas discounted the resurrection of Jesus, yet in reality Jesus was alive. What if you have refused to believe like Thomas, and Jesus is alive today and ready to come into your life?
Did you know that you lose nothing today if you believe that Jesus Christ is real, even when it looks impossible for a man to call Himself like God and die for the whole world? I can testify that He is very real and that the Bible is true. The best that could happen if you attempted to believe is that you will find out that He is real.
That is why Jesus said, “Have faith in God”. Mark 11:22
Believing in God is the key to living Faith
One cannot have faith without believing. And more so believing in those impossible situations you face at times.
Most of what you are trying to achieve today will require your act of believing first. Then only can you receive or enjoy the fruits of that blessing. The blessing you desire today is already there. What may be missing for you is the act of believing regardless of how long it takes. Because the Lord says, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed”
Believing in God is a choice we can all make, Romans 10:9-10
Thomas chose not to believe. You have the choice too. The choice to decide to believe even when you don’t see exactly what you want in the physical. This choice is your bridge to the gap between receiving good things in your life and missing out on the good things in your life. Have faith in God, because he is dependable all the time.
“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Numbers 23:19.
What are you expecting to happen to you today? A business to start, marriage to happen, your body to be healed, some money to come through. It starts with believing, and standing in that belief. There is a greater blessing when you believe without seeing.
For in the world, they say “seeing is believing”, but in the kingdom of God our creator, “believing is seeing”.
God bless
