‘Shall I bring to the [moment of] birth and not cause to bring forth? says the Lord. Shall I who causes to bring forth shut the womb? says your God.’ Isaiah 66:9 AMPC
It’s very easy for your thoughts to wander or simply give up when God’s promise seems to be taking forever. I remember the time God showed me who I’d be married to and having to wait over three years wondering if He had spoken to him too. It was nerve-wracking days turned months of wondering whether God had spoken to me or it was just my imagination. Each time I chose to forget the dream, God reminded me of the promise.
During my moments of waiting, one lesson I learned was that when you are carrying God’s vision for your life to full-term and about to give birth to it, you will face doubt and extreme discouragement. If your decision is not led by the Holy Spirit you might fall prey to the enemy’s lure. He tends to counterfeit every blessing God brings our way. Maybe like me, you may at one point or the other question if you heard God correctly. Even question if what He has promised is really for you.
God will not promise you one thing and do another. That is inconsistent with His character and nature. He can never bring you to a door he hasn’t opened, nor does he lead you onto a path He hasn’t prepared. You are exactly where God needs you to be and you will carry your vision to full-term. Remain steadfast, God is not about to desert you.
